FSV Mainz 05 gets Maxim Leitsch from VfL Bochum

Football Bundesliga club FSV Mainz 05 has hired central defender Maxim Leitsch from league competitor VfL Bochum.

"We committed ourselves to Maxim during the squad planning and are pleased that we were able to win it for Mainz 05," said VfL Bochums director Martin Schmidt: "He suits us great, both from the way he plays football and from the way he is as a guy away from the square. " For Bochum, where Leitsch played since his youth, the former junior international was used 19 times in the league (one goal) and three times in the DFB Cup in the past season, he completed overall 93 competitive games. In Mainz he is intended as a replacement for the Dutch Jeremiah St. Juste, who changes to VfL Bochuming Lisbon after three years in the club.
